A Joplin man's lengthy criminal history was cited in a detention motion filed today in U. S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri.
Tucker L. Hall was arrested following the Joplin Police Department's December 21, 2021 execution of a search warrant at Hall's residence at 919 South St. Louis Avenue. The allegations against him are described in the motion:
During the execution of that search warrant, officers located the defendant, Tucker L. Hall, in his bedroom, which was identified as the northwest bedroom of the residence. Detective Prater located a backpack in this bedroom, which contained a magazine for a 9 mm firearm.Officers located numerous illegal controlled substances in the residence, including fentanyl. Detective Walker searched a silver Infinity sedan in the attached garage of the residence, located, and seized a Glock, model 48, 9 mm caliber pistol, bearing serial number BTYH176, with a loaded magazine, in the vehicle. Specifically, it was attached to a magnet at the driver’s knee area.
Officers with the Joplin Police Department had previously observed the defendant driving this vehicle away from the residence in the days leading up to the execution of the search warrant.
After officers had detained the defendant on scene, he escaped from his handcuffs and ran from the residence. Officers located him hiding under a deck of a neighboring property, after he had unsuccessfully attempted to hide in a neighbors’ attic.
In the motion, the assistant U S. Attorney noted that Hall was a flight risk since he faces considerable prison time due to his previous criminal activities and because he has "a consistent history of violating court orders while on probation."
Hall has prior felony convictions for tampering in the first degree, theft, and at least two felony convictions for
resisting arrest, according to the motion.
The detention hearing is scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday in Springfield.
