(By Seventh District Congressman Eric Burlison)This week, I joined my colleagues in introducing articles of impeachment against Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.
My reasoning is this.
In 2006, Congress ordered the Secretary of Homeland Security to “achieve and maintain operational control over the entire international land and maritime borders of the United States”
Operational control is defined as “the prevention of all unlawful entries into the United States, including entries by terrorists, other unlawful aliens, instruments of terrorism, narcotics, and other contraband.”
But the problem is Secretary Mayorkas has not kept control. He's violated his Oath of Office, violated federal law, and completely lost control.
