The Joplin R-8 School District posted an opening Tuesday for principal at Jefferson Elementary.
The new principal will replace Jason Weaver, who was named principal at the new Dover Hill Elementary.
Here is what the district is looking for in the new administrator:

Qualifications: Master’s Degree or higher in Educational Administration/Leadership; Valid Administrative Certification in Missouri
Supervisory: Yes
Reports to: Superintendent
Classification: Certified/Exempt
Term: Full-time/10 Months
Summary
The principal is the instructional leader for his or her building and is responsible for the daily operation of the building.

Physical Demands
An individual who holds this position must frequently move in and around buildings and grounds to visit classrooms, attend meetings and supervise bus loading and unloading areas and sit for an hour or more at a time. Must be able to lift 25 pounds.
