Missouri Democrats praise Joe Biden, with some quickly throwing support to Kamala Harris

By Jason Hancock

Missouri Democratic leaders and delegates to the party’s national convention next month heaped praise on President Joe Biden’s decision to drop his bid for re-election — with a few prominent Democrats quickly lining up behind Vice President Kamala Harris.

U.S. Rep. Cori Bush, who is facing a tough primary fight for her St. Louis-based seat, thanked the president for “prioritizing our nation’s needs, a decision that I am sure was a difficult one.”

She also formally endorsed Harris, who Bush said had the “vision to carry this legacy forward” and “defeat Donald Trump.”

St. Louis Mayor Tishaura Jones also endorsed Harris, saying on social media that Biden has been the most “consequential leader of our lifetime” and she looks forward to supporting Harris as the Democratic nominee.

Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas, a delegate to the Democratic National Convention, did not directly announce an endorsement of Harris, but he did post on social media that he donated to her campaign for president, calling her “brilliant, experienced, personable, relatable.”

State Rep. Keri Ingle of Lee’s Summit, a delegate to the convention, retweeted Harris thanking Biden for his endorsement.

Several other Missouri delegates to the convention also pledged support for Harris, but not all.

U.S. Rep. Emanuel Cleaver of Kansas City praised Biden but stopped short of endorsing Harris.

St. Louis County Executive Sam Page took the same tack, as did House Minority Leader Crystal Quade of Springfield, a candidate for governor.

State Sen. Doug Beck of Affton, a Democratic delegate, said he would be taking the “next few weeks to hear from as many voters as possible about how and with whom they would like to move forward.”

To all you magats, what you just witnessed is an act of courage and real patriotism that your one eared leader knows nothing about, (1/6, covid response, 34 felonies, hundreds of million dollars owed in civil suits, harboring national security files in his bathroom, white supremist, shall I continue?) Biden put country before himself. What has your partially peeled orange antique former failed president ever done that didn't promote his narcissistic self? Divide the country?..check, oversee the unnecessary death of millions from a failed covid response?...check, deny climate change and set us back years to mediate it?...check. Shall I continue? I have so thoroughly enjoyed watching magat leadership and faux news soil their shorts over the Dems making over 150 million dollars since Sunday. Game on magats!

Kamala Harris November 20, 2019:

I prosecuted sex predators. Trump is one.
I shut down for-profit scam colleges. He ran one.
I held big banks accountable. He's owned by them.

I'm not just prepared to take on Trump, I'm prepared to beat him.

@12:04pm Anonymous---You seem very angry with your comments, you are going to be even angrier on election day when Trump wins the presidency again.

Stating facts 143, by the way, you sound rather passive. I assume you, like the one-eared felon, have had your magat balloon burst at the current news.

Kamala Harris today:

"As many of you know, before I was elected as vice president, before I was elected as a United States senator, I was the elected attorney general, I've mentioned, to California, and before that, I was a courtroom prosecutor."

Also:

"I took on perpetrators of all kinds. Predators who abused women, fraudsters who ripped off consumers, cheaters who broke the rules for their own gain. Hear me when I say: I know Donald Trump's type. And in this campaign, I will proudly put my record against his."

Even a stopped clock republican can be right occasionally!

Nikki Haley January 23, 2024:

"Most Americans do not want a rematch between Biden and Trump," the former South Carolina governor said in January after losing the New Hampshire Republican primary. "The first party to retire its 80-year-old candidate is going to be the party that wins this election." https://www.newsweek.com/nikki-haley-election-prediction-1928301

Can't believe the GOP is running such an old, dried out candidate. HARRIS 2024

Trump is scared now 🤣

An act of courage? No it’s a sick old man that finally had enough clarity to understand he’s not competent, sadly he doesn’t understand that he’s not competent to finish his term either. Joe was propped up by the media and the Dims for the last 4 years, I can’t believe that anyone didn’t see his mind was failing the whole time.

Many reports that Trump listened to the advice of his silver spooner sons Don Jr and Erik aka Tweedle Dumb and Tweedle Dumber when he picked the so called hillbilly whisperer Vance as his running mate.

Vance apparently has the campaigning abilities and delivery skills of Jeb! Bush.

Ooops!

The majority of democrats today receive a check from the government as salary, retirement, or welfare. The scale tipped a few years back to fact that 52 percent of the workforce works for the government either local, state or federal level. Many get to retire after 20 years, then get another government position and retire from that also. I guarantee the majority of the bitter haters commenting here fit that profile. Peace and love to you all.
