Aurora High School teacher Kyle Doss, a Monett resident, didn't have to scramble for funds to meet bond on his felony sex with a student charge.
Lawrence County Judge Don Trotter set Doss' bond at $1. Though it isn't specified in the order, it appears that Doss could have posted bond either through cash or surety.
Trotter set the following conditions for Doss' release:
-He is under house arrest and required to wear a GPS monitor.
-No contact with the alleged victim through any means
-No unsupervised contact with anyone under the age of 18
-No teaching or volunteering at schools (you would think the house arrest would reduce the possibility of this happening.
Doss' preliminary hearing, originally scheduled for March 5, has been rescheduled to March 31 at the request of his lawyer, Springfield attorney Adam Woody, who said he had conflicts with hearings in Greene and Laclede counties March 5.

If they were talking before she was 18 I do see a problem with that.
If it wasn’t sexual until she was 18, I don’t think the court can hold him accountable for conversations with her.

Same thing happened at Carl Junction back in 2017 when the IT director was caught sending inappropriate messages to a high school senior who was 18 at the time. IT director was not terminated, was allowed to resign, no charges filed and he was also in charge of the local youth athletic department.

Is this judge Trotter from Jasper County??? With him imposing a $1 bond, it just sounds like he would be.
As far as the 2017 incident at CJ......that is just another example of the dealings that have been going on for many years. If only people knew it all.

2019 ISS supervisor and junior high basketball coach inappropriate text messages to a 18 year old high school student at another high school.
2023 grade school principal and vice principal caught having a lengthy affair.
2023 numerous football players hospitalized for using acid, all played the following week.
2023 into 2024 assistant baseball coach involved in two affairs with fellow teachers is promoted to softball coach and ends up in bed with assistant coach and student with alcohol on school sponsored trip.
2024 Smith ordeal..
And now it has been discovered two other current teachers were let go from high schools in Kansas for inappropriate behavior with a student and are currently employed by the district.
Every incident has come with Cook as superintendent and most of the current school board and most of them were swept under the rug and nothing said about it nor anything done by the media. And these are just the known incidents.

Yes, I remember the local sentiment and the demeanor of that time. People Painting - Satanic Symbols on buildings, missing or stolen domestic animals that were dismembered or beaten to death - just a bunch of sick twisted bastards. People were afraid of what was going on and the Police were trying to calm everyone down, as if they know what was going on. None of those Murders, James Hardy, Pete Roland, or Ron Clements, should be walking the streets - None of them could redeem themselves or have found Jesus after they Committed the Ultimate Sin - Murder of an Innocent Person. Even if they think they are redeemed - live your life in the confinement of Prison. They got out because they were 17 at the time of the Murder and

Ron Clements was released from prison on February 11, 2021 and Pete Roland was released on August 12, 2021 and James Hardy was released from Prison on August 12, 2022, but Steve Newberry, the Victim of their Beating and tossing in a Well - will never have that Opportunity to see his Family, Friends, or to live a Normal Life - Thanks to these Vicious Criminals.

I do not believe that you can ever Rehabilitate a Murder - Nor should they have ever been let out of jail - because they were 17-Years Old when they committed such a Heinous and Vicious Act of Killing, Seve Newberry, by Beating him to Death with Baseball Bats, Tying his Hands and Dumping him into a Well? I think they all should have been Tried as Adults and gotten the Death Penalty. Plus, with all the Domestic Animal Tortures and Beatings of Defenseless Animals - Some that were stolen - These 3- Sick Murders - Should be on everyone's Radar until they meet their maker and go straight to Hell.
