(From the Joplin Police Department)On February 17th, 2025, around 6:30 p.m. the Joplin Police Department Emergency Communications Center received 911 calls in reference to shots fired at 825 S. Florida Avenue.
Officers responded and determined a shooting had taken place. Officers located an 18-year-old male victim with gunshot wounds. Aid was rendered on scene until the victim could be transported to a local hospital for further treatment. The victim is in stable condition at this time.
The suspect fled the scene prior to officers’ arrival. As the investigation continued, it was learned that the shooting was a continuation of an earlier incident that had taken place at another location. The suspect was later identified as Jahaven Crumpton, age 18 of Joplin. Crumpton was arrested for one count of 1st Degree assault, one count of 2nd degree assault, and armed criminal action. Crumpton remains in custody in the Joplin City Jail and charges are being forwarded to the Jasper County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for review.
At this time, the Joplin Police Department believes this was an isolated incident.

I bet he’s let out on a 24 hour hold and given a court date. Or one of the crooked bails bonding company’s are gonna get him out for free so he can go on the run.
Highly doubt that. I know him personally. I am sure there is more to the story. Don’t speak on people or situations you don’t know or understand.
