Allegation: Joplin man attempted to kill sister by breaking her neck

A Joplin man has been charged with first-degree domestic assault after allegedly trying to kill his sister by breaking her neck.

An arrest warrant was issued Friday for Jeremy Ethan Hart (DOB 1990) with bond set at $50,000 cash only.

From the probable cause statement:

On 1/22/2026, I, was dispatched to a residence in Joplin, Jasper County, MO, 64804, reference a disturbance. W1 had called 911 and stated her son, Jeremy Hart, was beating up her daughter, V1.

I arrived on scene and observed V1 with a bloody face and multiple lacerations and contusions on her
face. V1 stated Jeremy had began to assault her over a bowl of cereal.

V1 stated Jeremy punched her and slapped her multiple times in the face. V1 stated Jeremy then grabbed her head by holding under her chin and on the top of her head. V1 advised Jeremy began to twist her head canted to the side multiple times. V1 stated she felt that Jeremy was attempting to break her neck and believed he was going to kill her.

Jeremy then began to kick V1 in the face. Jeremy grabbed V1's cell phone away from her and began to hit V1 on top of her head. Jeremy then broke V1's cell phone on the ground.

V1 eventually separated from Jeremy and W1 called 911.

I have probable cause to believe Jeremy committed the offense of first degree domestic assault due to
V1 and Jeremy being siblings. Additionally, V1 believed Jeremy was attempting to kill her by breaking
her neck.
