Neosho woman charged with fentanyl trafficking


The Jasper County Prosecuting Attorney charged a Neosho man with second-degree drug trafficking following a January 15. Joplin Police Department traffic stop.

From the probable cause statement:


On 01/15/2026 Amadiyah Hames was contacted as the passenger of a vehicle stop by a Joplin Police
K-9 Officer. The vehicle stop was conducted in the 500 block of South Sergeant Avenue, Joplin City,
Jasper County. The vehicle is a 2012 silver Acura MDX, bearing a Missouri Temporary Tag of
(07VGDF) The portion with the expiration date on the temporary tag was ripped off and not properly
displayed. 








When the vehicle stopped, Amadiyah was wearing a fanny pack. During the stop, Amadiyah gave the K-9 Officer verbal consent to search the fanny pack she was in possession of. 

During the search the K-9 Officer located two folded pieces of aluminum foil. Also, inside was a cut straw, and aluminum foil with burnt residue on it, consistent with Fentanyl use. Inside the two folded pieces was
a white powder substance. 








The substance later field tested positive for Fentanyl, using the TruNarc Device. The substance weighed .54 grams. 

Amadiyah committed the offense of Trafficking Drugs in the 2nd Degree when she was in possession of more than 20 milligrams of Fentanyl. The substance was sent to the MSHP Lab for narcotic testing.
