A wrongful death lawsuit filed against Mercy Joplin, three physicians and a nurse practitioner in September will be moved to Newton County Circuit Court at the request of the defendants.
In the motion for change of venue, it was noted that Mercy is actually located in Newton County.
The plaintiff, Julia Johannes, who claims the defendants are responsible for the death of her husband, Nick Johannes, in April 2025, did not object to the change of venue.
Listed as defendants, in addition to the hospital, are Eric Woolley, MD, Elizabeth Troilo, MD, Judith Russell, NP, and Olakanmi Deleawe, MD.Details of the lawsuit can be found at the link below:
