Federal judge denies motion to delay proceedings in Facebook Law case

Federal Judge Jean Hamilton denied a request from State Board of Education members to delay proceedings in a lawsuit brought by a Ladue teacher against Missouri's Facebook Law.

Defendants in the case have until Friday, October 28, to file their responses, according to the order filed Tuesday in U. S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri.

The delay had been requested to await the results of the revisions to the bill passed by the General Assembly during the special session.

Teacher Christina Thomas sued the Ladue School Board and the State Board of Education after the passage of the social networking portion of Sen. Jane Cunningham's SB 54.
