NFIB endorses Todd Akin

(From the Todd Akin campaign)

Today the Akin Campaign announced that the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) PAC, SAFE Trust, endorsed Todd Akin for Senate. NFIB is the nation's leading small business association representing small and independent businesses. A nonprofit, nonpartisan organization founded in 1943, NFIB represents the consensus views of its members in Washington and all 50 state capitals.

"Congressman Akin has an outstanding record on the issues that matter to small business owners,” said Lisa Goeas, NFIB Sr. Vice President for Political and Grassroots,  “He opposed the federal health care law and he pledges to repeal it; he opposes an increase in the income tax, which would affect thousands of small employers in Missouri; and he understands the need to reign in the regulatory bureaucracies in Washington.  In this term, Congressman Akin earned a perfect 100 percent score and has a lifetime NFIB voting record of 97 percent.  Senator McCaskill, on other hand, in this term earned a score of 45 percent and has a lifetime NFIB Voting record of 44 percent."

"Small businesses are the job creators in our economy and receiving the endorsement of the largest small businesss association in the country is an honor," said Todd Akin. "Unfortunately Barack Obama and Claire McCaskill have consistently supported policies that hurt small businesses and thus have prevented our economy from getting back on track. We need to give innovators and entrepreneurs the ability to grow their small businesses and put more Americans to work. Obamacare, redtape and high taxes are all problems created by Claire McCaskill and Barack Obama which are hurting our economy. I will work to put Missourians back to work and get government out of the way of small businesses."

THe NFIB is nothing more than a lobbing group for ALEC and other Koch backed groups. It is not what the name implies.
