One of the most powerful young singers I have had the privilege to hear, 2013 Joplin High School graduate Hannah Cady will take a shot at bigger things Saturday when she goes to St. Louis to try out for the NBC hit program "The Voice."
Here's a sample of Hannah singing "The Star Spangled Banner" from the August 15, 2011, opening day pep rally for Joplin Schools employees at Missouri Southern State University, just three months after the tornado.
Sadly, I no longer have the video of Hannah's wonderful performance at last year's benefit show at East Middle School. It was on my school computer. Hopefully, it won't be destroyed.
