Sinquefield asks court to let candidates keep his contributions

No surprise here.
Billionaire voucher supporter Rex Sinquefield has filed documents with the Missouri Supreme Court asking that the political candidates to whom he donated hundreds of thousands of dollars earlier this year be allowed to keep the money.
The money is at question following the court's decision last month to restore the state's campaign contribution limits. Prior to that decision, Sinquefield and other wealthy individuals and groups, both from Missouri and out of state had been pouring money into political campaign accounts:

Sinquefield contended that refunds would be unfair to donors who sought to give hefty early support to favored candidates. His lawyer argued that a refund ruling also might make the donors subject to fines by the Missouri Ethics Commission, which governs the state campaign finance laws.

The state GOP also asked the court to reconsider its decision and restore the law repealing the limits.
