Church shooting change of venue request set for Oct. 29 hearing

An attempt by accused church shooter Eiken Elam Saimon to have his case moved from Newton County will be heard 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 29 in Newton County Circuit Court.
The hearing is scheduled to coincide with an already scheduled pre-trial conference.
Saimon faces three counts of first degree murder and six other felony charges in connection with the Aug 12 shootings at the First Congregational Church in Neosho during an afternoon service of a Micronesian church. The three murdered men were the church's pastor and two deacons.
