H1N1 vaccine clinic scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 17, in Joplin

Access Family Care, in collaboration with Joplin and Jasper County Health Departments, will be providing a H1N1 Flu Vaccine
The following news release was issued this afternoon by the city of Joplin:

Clinic on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 from 3 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The Clinic will be at Access Family Care, 530 Maiden Lane in Joplin, Mo. During the clinic, the injectible vaccine containing thimerosal will be administered. This clinic is open to;

• Pregnant women,

• People under 64 years who live with or care for children less than 6 months of age,

• Children 6 months to 4 years of age,

• Children 5-18 years of age who have chronic medical conditions, and

• Health care and emergency medical services personnel with direct patient care.

To make an appointment or find out if you qualify for the vaccine, please call 417-358-3111 or toll free at 1-877-879-9131. An appointment is necessary for this clinic. Please remember to wear short sleeves for ease of vaccination. Those who are not able to get a vaccination at this time should be patient until more vaccine arrives. More clinic dates will be scheduled as more vaccine becomes available.
