Democratic spokesman criticizes Blunt relationship with Chamber

A news release issued Tuesday by Missouri Democratic Party spokesman Ryan Hobart criticized Seventh District Congressman and U. S. Senate candidate Roy Blunt for his association with the U. S. Chamber of Commerce, which Hobart criticized for its support of outsourcing American jobs:

After a devastating 14-year Washington record when it comes to jobs and the economy, Congressman Blunt tried today to distract from his past by rolling out a “jobs plan.” However, in a strange turn of events, Congressman Blunt chose to discuss his jobs plan while standing with the most famous corporate special interest conglomerate. Even worse, the Chamber has been a public proponent of outsourcing jobs. The Chamber’s President, Tom Donahue, actually said, “there are legitimate values in outsourcing ‐‐ not only jobs, but work.”


"Missourians are suffering through Congressman Blunt’s 'jobs plan' from when he was a leader in Congress right now, with unemployment at around nine percent,” said Missouri Democratic Party Spokesman Ryan Hobart. "The fact that Congressman Blunt is touting the endorsement of a strong advocate for outsourcing jobs shows just how out-of-touch and in the pocket of corporate special interests he really is.”
