Joplin businessman Ron Erwin told an Albuquerque television station he was "in utter shock" that the investigation of the West Mesa murders led to searches of his businesses and residences Tuesday.
A Missouri businessman whose homes and business were searched by police in connection with the West Mesa murder investigation said Wednesday he's in "utter shock."
That was the only comment Ron Erwin would give because he said his attorney advised him not to speak to reporters.

Knowledge is power; I wear so many hats as a business owner and keeping informed on all the countless things I need to know isn’t always easy. The concise info you shared is appreciated. Thanks.
I am almost certain that this Ron Erwin was involved in a stalking case in the Joplin area back in the eighties. I'm not 100% sure though. Does anyone remember this event.
This clip was the best news story I have seen on this subject. Ron Erwin has not been charged, arrested, or even officially questioned from what I have heard. This search will either clear him or convict him. We need to stay tuned and wait to make any judgements.
I heard from two separate sources today that Ron committed suicide last night... Probably just a vicious rumor as I've not read anything about it in the media yet.
I have talked to someone who was told today by the Joplin Police Department that Ron Erwin is alive.
I had also heard that he committed suicide... are you sure this is a rumor?
