Jury convicts Salazar

A Jasper County jury convicted Eddie Salazar of second degree murder Wednesday in the death of his infant son:

Eddie Salazar Sr. faces a prison sentence of 10 to 30 years when he's sentenced on April 30 for the death of Eddie Salazar Jr.
Defense attorneys for Salazar rested on Wednesday morning without calling any witnesses.  The last witness for the prosecution was a forensic pathologistwho testified the baby had three skull factures and his death was due to blunt force.  Ariel Goldsmith, the pathologist, said Eddie Jr. would have had to hit the ground with “considerable force” to cause those injuries.
