The following statement was issued by the McCaskill for Missouri 2012 following Friday night's debate between Republican U. S. Senate candidates Todd Akin, John Brunner, and Sarah Steelman.
“Once again, Todd Akin, Sarah Steelman and John Brunner failed to outline a clear vision to move our country forward, relying instead on extreme rhetoric and shallow talking points in their efforts to prove they’re the most conservative candidate in this race,” said Caitlin Legacki, McCaskill for Missouri spokeswoman. “Missouri’s families want a Senator on our side, but Akin, Brunner and Steelman have outlined three clear priorities in this race: privatizing Social Security and Medicare, while also ending federal student loans. That’s not a way to move our state or our country forward and Missourians deserve better.”
