First signing for No Child Left Alive is today

The first signing for the novel that got me fired, No Child Left Alive, is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at Always Buying Books in Joplin.

The book is about one year at a dysfunctional public high school where teachers have to battle clueless administrators and out-of-control students.

Copies of my other books will also be available, with the exception of my 2006 novel Devil's Messenger.

This will be the first time that all three of the Joplin Tornado books, 5:41 and Spirit of Hope by John Hacker and me, and Scars from the Tornado, will be available at a signing. Hacker is scheduled to be there for at least part of the time.

Costs of the books are as follows:

No Child Left Alive $15
5:41: Stories from the Joplin Tornado $20
Spirit of Hope: The Year After the Joplin Tornado $20
Scars from the Tornado: One Year at East Middle School $10
Newspaper Days $10
The Turner Report $10
Small Town News $10

Hope to see you there!
