Education blogger: Common Core unrest in 17 states- and Missouri is not included

The backlash against Common Core Standards appears to be growing at such a pace that even people who follow it closely are unable to keep up.

Nationally-known education blogger Mercedes Schneider offered a post on 17 states in which unrest about Common Core is evident- and Missouri is not even included.

I will make a couple of predictions  now- Common Core Standards may not be eliminated in Missouri in 2014, but the move toward implementation is going to slow down considerably and by the time the year is over, Education Commissioner Chris Nicastro is going to take a public beating (verbal) and will not handle it well.

Missouri legislators are not happy about Common Core and the way it is put into place, not only without them being consulted, but also without the input of local school boards.

We (St. Tammany, LA) drafted and approved an anti-CC resolution.

MO is definitely pushing against CC. I hope it yields substantive results statewide.
