Columbia oncologist tests positive for COVID-19, patients asked to self-quarantine

A Columbia oncologist tested positive for COVID-19, and his patients are being contacted and asked to self-quarantine for the next 14 days.

Dr. Mark Vellek, who practices at Missouri Cancer Associates, may have contracted the disease during a recent trip to Africa.

Vellek started experiencing symptoms Thursday and was tested at a drive-through clinic.

The accompanying report is from KCRG.
