Joplin R-8 superintendent, Citizen's Campaign leader to explain bond issue on Newsmakers program

(From Southern News Service)

There’s an election day on April 7, and a bond issue involving the Joplin School District highlights the next edition of “Newsmakers” on KGCS-TV.

Dr. Melinda Moss, JSD superintendent, and Kelli Perigo, co-chair of the Citizen’s Campaign, sit down with Judy Stiles, host and KGCS general manager, to explain the details the $25 million proposal.

It includes the construction of a new elementary school at Dover Hill (to replace Columbia and West Central Elementary schools) as well as an addition to Kelsey Norman Elementary School. The proposal also has no tax increase for voters.

The show will begin airing nightly at 5:30 p.m. the week of March 8. It will also air on Saturday, March 14 at 5:30 a.m. on KOAM-TV – and is currently posted on the station’s YouTube channel, “KGCS Missouri Southern.”

KGCS programming can be seen on channel 21. It is also available on regional cable television systems such as Sparklight, Mediacom and Suddenlink Communications. The station operates as a service of the Department of Communication at Missouri Southern State University.

There has to be a better piece of property. Vote no.

My problems are the "Not a new tax" - "Not a tax increase", LIES. ANY extension of the proposed tax from its original ending, IS A TAX INCREASE!!!!

Still waiting on someone to suggest a viable alternative.
