Missouri statistics show one COVID-19 death in past 24 hours, 140 new cases

Statistics released this afternoon by the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services show 177 deaths, but only one in the last 24 hours.

That death was in St. Louis County, which leads the state with 82 deaths so far. Twenty-one have been reported in the City of St. Louis, 13 in Kansas City, 13 in St. Charles County, eight in Jackson County and seven in Greene County.

The statistics were released prior to the information that a COVID-19 related death had occurred in Newton County.







The number of people who have contracted the coronavirus stands at 5,807 according to the statistics, an increase of 140 during 24 hours.

No additional cases were reported for this area with the totals listed as 15 for Jasper County nine for Newton County (the 10th was announced after the state figures were posted), seven in the City of Joplin, four in McDonald County and none in Barton County.
