Pinnacle Healthcare closes Boonville hospital, clinics in Springfield, KC, Columbia, St. Louis, 125 jobs lost

Citing the disruption of its businesses due to restrictions on surgeries and inability to generate revenue, Pinnacle Healthcare closed its hospitals in Boonville and Overland Park, Kansas and its Blue Valley Surgical Associates clinics in a number of Missouri communities, including Springfield, Kansas City, St. Louis and Columbia.

In its WARN Act notification to the Missouri Department of Higher Education and Workforce Development, Pinnacle said layoffs began April 10, with everyone being let go except for a few employees who are needed to "perform critical functions such as "accounting, billing, planning and human resources information management."







Approximately 125 employees are losing their jobs, including four in Springfield, according to the WARN letter.

The company recently declared Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
