Former Sarcoxie High School English teacher Baylee Turner was a no-show November 1 at her latest hearing in Jasper County Circuit Court on a felony charge of sexual contact with a student."State appears by Nate Dally, APA. Defendant fails to appear and appears by Attorney Phil Glades," according to the online docket entry.
The failure to show was the ninth time for Turner. Prior to her scheduled May 3 hearing, a docket notation indicated Judge David Mouton planned to issue a warrant for her arrest if she did not come to the hearing.
She failed to attend the hearing and court records do not indicate any warrant was issued. Turner has not attended any court hearing since November 25, 2019
Mouton scheduled Turner's next hearing for 9 a.m. January 24.
Turner was in her third year with the R-2 School District when she allegedly had sex with a student at her home sometime between January 14 and January 21, 2019, according to the probable cause statement.
Turner resigned February 12, 2019 and the R-2 Board of Education accepted her resignation the following day.

WAKE UP -
Baylee Turner - Should have had a Court Bond that Required her to Show up for Each and Every Court Appearance / Why is Judge David Mouton allowing this - - She Does have - PHIL GLADES as an ATTORNEY - Who Every Judge in Jasper and Newton County Owes Favors Too - - Why You Ask - - I would Too - - PHIL - has either Donated Money To All of Them and/or has Helped Bail Them Out of their MESSES...
There have been Rumors of Clients Paying Mr. Glades in Contraband and Other Favors - - For handling their Cases - - Cannot Say True or Not - Just Rumors.
Quotes - From Clients...
Best lawyers in Joplin. I had two drug charges on me and the Glades law firm was able to get it dropped down to just drug paraphernalia.
Phil Glades has gotten complacent in his old age and treated me like a criminal when I knew the case should be dismissed which it was as I filled him in the morning of court for third time . A mouth piece. Still have not gotten my firearm out of system almost a year since dismissal after several attempts by me bugging him. $3500
They take their time with your case, all of the staff is extremely rude. The attorneys never return your calls, they have absolutely no signs or anything to tell you where their building is. The attorneys are arrogant and think they are better than everyone else.
If you want a quality attorney do yourself a favor and choose anyone besides this law firm
Seriously? 9 no shows for court? Smh
What a joke the system is.
sounds like her lawyer is doing a good job as always
