$250,000 bond set for Webb City man charged with tampering with a witness

A $250,000 bond has been set in Texas County Circuit Court for a Webb City man charged with tampering with a witness in a felony case.

Texas County Circuit Court records indicate a warrant has been issued for the arrest of Ronald McCallister, 46.

From the Houston (MO) Herald:

A Houston officer was dispatched to a retail store regarding a report of a man harassing the business. The officer made contact with the woman who owns the store, who was on the phone with a man – McCallister – and recording the conversation. McCallister was reportedly yelling and cussing and telling the woman to change her statement to the police. The officer tried to speak to McCallister, but he cussed and yelled and hung up.

According to the Herald's account, the store owner claimed McCallister used her husband's identity numerous times. She was prepared to testify against him but McCalliser never showed up for court hearings.
