During a closed session Tuesday, the Joplin R-8 Board of Education approved 15 "certified separations," with 13 of the teachers remaining with the district until the end of the current school year and the other two released immediately.
The board also hired 10 teachers and 10 classified employees and discussed real estate and litigation.
As previously reported, the board hired two administrators- Joplin High School Principal Randy Oliver and Jefferson Elementary Principal Kern Sorell.
The two teachers whose "separations," are already in effect, according to the board minutes are Shelia Dilley and Ashley Eurit.
The 13 who will remain with the district through the end of the year are as follows:
Peter Bledsoe, Levi Butts, Jessica Faucett, Anabeth Griffin, Mary Thomason, Mia McFerron, Alex Cawood, Jamee Compton, Leslie Shaeffer, Megan White, Carmen Seeley
The following probationary teachers' contracts were renewed for the 2023-2024 school year:
Certified Employment- Sydni Beck, Nicole Lamont, Alaina Allen, Rileigh Veale, Andrea Day, Erica Doennig, Laura Campbell, Shanon Cooper, Reagan Fowler and Benjamin Davis.
Classified Employments- Taylor Box, Patrick Franklin, Kenny Gubera, Billy Gray, Dustin Heritage, Juneau Lopez, Ronald Mynatt, Amanda Pulliam, Emily Reynolds, and Jadi Stone,
