Alleged drunk driver plows into five motorcycles, four Aurora residents killed, seven flown to Springfield hospitals

An Aurora woman was arrested on a felony driving while intoxicated after she crossed the center line on MO 39 three miles north of Aurora 11:20 a.m. today and hit five motorcycles. Four people were pronounced dead at the scene, with eight others airlifted to Springfield hospitals.

According to the Highway Patrol report, Theresa L. Manetzke, 51, Aurora, struck a 2006 Harley Davidson driven by Jesse W. Clinkingbeard, 54, Aurora, a 2000 Harley Davidson driven by Cody J. Zielinski, 35, Aurora; a 2003 Honda driven by James R. Olmsted, 59, Aurora, a 2000 Honda driven by Darrell J. Trueblood, 37, Aurora, and a 2005 Honda driven by Kameron L. Hale, 28, Aurora.

The Manetzke vehicle traveled off the west side of the roadway and landed in  a ditch. The five motorcycles overturned, ejecting all drivers and passengers with the Olmsted motorcycle catching fire.

Olmsted, Hale, a passenger on the Clinkingbeard vehicle, Linda G. Anderson, 61, Aurora, and a passenger on the Olmsted vehicle, a 17-year-old Aurora girl, were pronounced dead at the scene by Lawrence County Coroner Scott Lakin at 11:55 a.m.

Clinkingbeard was airlifted to Mercy Springfield with serious injuries.

Manetzke; Zielinski; a passenger on the Zielinski vehicle, Jessica E. Zielinski, 35, Aurora; Trueblood; a passenger on the Trueblood vehicle, Krista D. Trueblood, 30, Aurora, and a 16-year-old Aurora girl who was a passenger on the Hale vehicle were flown to Cox South Hospital, Springfield, to be treated for serious injuries.

Online Highway Patrol records indicate Manetzke, in addition to the DWI charge, was cited for driving on the wrong side of the roadway.

Online court records do not show any prior DWI convictions for Manetzke, though she pleaded guilty to "defective equipment' charges and possession of drug paraphernalia November 18, 2014, in Aurora Municipal Court and was fined $300 and to "defective equipment" August 8, 2013 in Billings Municipal Court and was fined $200.

The fatalities were the 46th, 47th, 48th and 49th this year for Highway Patrol Troop D.

Drunk drivers should receive many years in prison. If they take a life, minimum of 25 years. Why do we provide them with multiple chances to kill people, or kill more people?

This is a Tragic Situation - which will affect many Families for the Rest of their Lives - - Because - This Idiot Drove Drunk - - Multiple Times - - But Finally Her Actions Impacted More than Just Her Life...

Yes, If you are Caught Driving Impaired - With Drugs or Alcohol - You should lose your License and Your Freedom - - This happens all the Time - - Judges, Prosecuting Attorneys, and Jurors -Feel Sorry for these Individuals or Their Defense Attorney Cuts a Sweetheart Deal with the Prosecuting Attorneys with a Slap on the Wrist and a Fine and they are given multiple opportunities to go back out Drive and cause more Havoc and Harm - - and even Killing Others and themselves - because - NO ONE PUTS A STOP TO THEM - - - Several Cases in Jasper and Newton Counties - Where, Judges, Prosecuting Attorneys - Current and Former, Local Politicians - - are all given Slaps on the Wrist - - after they have been Caught Driving Impaired. WE GOT TO HOLD THESE JUDGES, PROSECUTING ATTORNEYS, DEFENSE ATTORNEYS AND THEIR CLINTS - RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR ACTIONS...

We have got to STOP Feeling Sorry for the Criminals and START FEELING SORRY FOR THE VICTIMS.
