A Joplin man was sentenced during a hearing this morning in U. S. District Court in Springfield to 80 months in prison for receiving and distributing child pornography.
Dakotah "Cody" Gilmore, 32, will be on supervised probation for five years after he completes his sentence.
A Southwest Missouri Cyber Crimes Task Force investigation had traced child pornography, much of it involving children who appeared to be age five or younger, to accounts belonging to Gilmore, according to the probable cause affidavit.
During an interview with investigators, Gilmore admitted he had been viewing and distributing child pornography for two years and was a member of 50 child pornography groups, according to the affidavit.
