Area pastor held on $100,000 cash-only bond for alleged kidnapping, sexual abuse of Joplin teen

Joshua John Price, 37, Parsons, Kansas,is being held in the Jasper County Detention Center on a $100,000 cash-only bond on charges of kidnapping, armed criminal action (two counts), first-degree sexual abuse and sexual exploitation of a minor.

KSNF reports that Price is a pastor with Lost Souls Ministry in Oswego, Kansas.

From the probable cause statement:

On 11/03/2025, V1, a juvenile female, reported a sexual assault. V1 advised that she had been at a friend's house in Joplin and they had walked to the home of another friend. V1 became bored and
decided to walk back to her friend's apartment by herself.

While walking in the area of 7th Street and S. Moffet Ave, in Joplin, a black Jeep like SUV with Kansas plates pulled up and the male driver asked if she needed a ride. V1 told the male that she did not need a ride. V1 advised that the male in the black SUV presented a black handgun and told her to get into the vehicle. V1 did as instructed and the male drove her to Schifferdecker Park.

V1 advised the male parked the vehicle near the back of the park near the picnic tables and told her to get out. V1 advised she got out of the vehicle and the male had her stand next to a tree and began taking photographs of her.

At one point the male pulled her tank top down exposing her breasts. The male then told her to get into the back passenger side seat of the vehicle and he got into the driver side back seat. The male then placed his cell phone on the center console between the driver and passenger seats with the screen facing them.

V1 advised she believed the male was using his cell phone to film them. He told her to pull her pants down. When she refused he pulled the black handgun from his waist, put it up against her left temple and told her again to pull her pants down.

V1 advised that the male rubbed his hand on her vagina through her clothing.

V1 advised she told the male she had forgotten to take her medication and she believed she was about to have a seizure. She told the male to call an ambulance. He then drove her back to the area of King Cash Saver on 7th St and told her to get out of the vehicle.

V1 advised after she had been dropped off, she messaged the male on SnapChat in an attempt to get the male to send her a picture of himself, but he would not do so. V1 provided screen shots of the conversation on SnapChat that showed the male's SnapChat user name.

Using information from SnapChat, I identified Joshua Price as a possible suspect. I then ran a clear
report which showed Joshua Price had a black Kia Sorento registered to him out of Kansas. I searched
Price in our reporting system and located a report in which he had reported his black Kia Sorento had
been stolen while in Joplin.

With the phone number he used when he called to report the stolen vehicle, I was able to determine that the carrier for that phone number was AT&T. A search warrant was sent to AT&T requesting timing advance and cell tower data for that phone number on 11/03/2025. The information received from AT&T shows timing advance data that puts the suspect in the same area and at the same time as V1. It also shows tower data that puts Price in the same area as V1 during the time she was told to get into the vehicle and when she was dropped back off near King Cash Saver.

The victim located a photo of man who had assaulted her on Facebook and sent me a screenshot of the
photo. I was able to identify the man in the photo as Joshua Price.

The case was investigated by the Joplin Police Department.

Oh look!

Yet another 4 Corners so called 'pastor' accused of committing violent sex crimes against a minor.

Not a drag queen, pronouns used unknown, not a transgender person, not a person of color, not an immigrant, but in fact the usual suspect.

Again.

How did she get his Snapchat information?

And like the aforementioned drag queen, proper pronouns people etc. He is pretending to be someone or something he is not.

11:14AM Bad People come in every Vocation, Ethnicity, Race, Color, Both Sexes, Etc., not just Clergy! 11:42AM, Not the usual suspect either, there is enough crimes by all those that you mentioned - A Crime is a Crime! There are Crimes of Man and of God and all should be Punished for them!

Surely building large monuments and gold toilets and walking in on young european modes in dressing rooms are mentioned somewhere in the bible.

One does not simply pull up someone from out of state on Snapchat. She knew him and communicated with him before he picked her up.

3:15 so are you victim shaming? The girl who is a young teen, below the legal age of consent, is to blame because of Snapchat? The poor innocent older guy? Is that what you are saying? You definitely need some mental help and quickly.

Are virtue signaling? Im just saying that you don't get picked up by a person you don't know, from another state, and then find them on Snapchat. That's not how things work. He's still wrong for what he did, but let's get the facts straight here. She clearly played some sort of role in it. I understand that you don't understand technology, and that's ok, but for those of us that do, it's relatively obvious

You would have a better chance of finding my Snapchat, than this person finding a random person from another state. Gtfo

What an insane level of victim blaming and trying to make excuses for a 'man' accused of armed kidnapping and committing sex crimes against someone who is 14 years old.

The judge won't allow many of these victim blaming and shaming defenses in court.

Let me explain just how twisted your attempts to defend this accused sex criminal are.

Suppose anyone committed these same violent sex crimes and their 14 year old son or daughter was the victim. They get arrested and charged with the same crimes. That's a conviction! The fact that the victim knew and communicated with the offender doesn't excuse the kidnapping at gunpoint, the sexual assault at gunpoint, or the recording of the sex crimes. It means nothing other than there might be more evidence for the prosecution.

Suppose anyone did this to a 20 year old man or woman whether or not they knew them. They get arrested and charged for a number of these charges, just not the particular child sex abuse charges. That's a conviction! The fact that the victim was an adult doesn't excuse the kidnapping at gunpoint, the sexual assault at gunpoint, or the recording of the sexual assault.

Suppose a person committed these crimes against their spouse. They get arrested and charged for the same crimes other than the child sex crimes. That's a conviction! They shouldn't kidnap anyone at gunpoint and sexually violate them at gunpoint. On camera.

One more thought.

Hopefully the feds take a look at the recording this guy allegedly made of his crime and the other evidence in this case. It could well be that his phone recording of his sex crime against a minor gets him federal sex crime charges. He deserves it. Like that former Monett police officer Scott William Gaston. https://rturner229.blogspot.com/2026/01/former-monett-police-officer-faces.html
