Detroit News editorial slams new NFL policy

A new NFL policy that will prevent stations like KODE, KOAM, and KSNF from getting their own footage at Kansas City Chiefs games is slammed in an editorial in today's Detroit Free Press.
The editorial notes three good reasons why this policy is a bad one:
1. Most of the stadiums are taxpayer-supported.
2. Local TV stations are often seeking footage for features on particular hometown players- footage that will not be available from a network or pool feed.
3. The NFL seems to be forgetting who has helped promote the game and make it into such a blockbuster moneymaker in the first place.
