Rep. Bryan Stevenson, R-Webb City, returned $14,950 in excess campaign contributions, including more than $11,000 to two wealthy educational voucher supporters, according to his quarterly disclosure statement, filed today with the Missouri Ethics Commission.
The documents show Stevenson returning $7,175 to retired billionaire Rex Sinquefield and $4,675 to CNS (Charles Norval Sharpe) Corporation. Stevenson also returned excess contributions to Leggett & Platt, Ron Richard, Integrity Home Care, and Missouri Health Care Association PAC, among others.
It did not take long for Stevenson to recover the $675 he returned to the Missouri Health Care Association. The disclosure report indicates Stevenson received a total of $1,950 from six regional MHCA PACS.
The PACs contributed the money to Stevenson on Nov. 27, according to the documents.
