The Joplin area will become the site of an ethanol plant according to an
article by the Joplin Tri-State Business Journal's Jeff Wells. The former Joplin Globe reporter is beginning to make a habit of scooping his former newspaper on business-related stories, making it clear why not one, but two, publishers felt the city was ripe for a business publication.

The Joplin Tri-State Business Journal is far superior to the Joplin Business Journal, based on my analysis of both publications. Jeff Wells appears to be running circles around Tom Murray and the Asay Publishing crew. I can't see that Mr. Murray is doing any reporting himself, while Mr. Wells has quite a few bylines.
