Fair warning:
This weekend when I have a bit more time, I'm going to reflect on the late, lamented Lamar Press, which I still insist was the best weekly newspaper this area has seen.
The first edition of The Press came out Aug. 15, 1996. The newspaper was a success content-wise, but the business end of it never took off and it ended July 11, 1997, 49 weeks after it began.
