Blunt regrets voting for No Child Left Behind

Seventh District Congressman Roy Blunt told a group of Springfield-area school superintendents he regrets voting for No Child Left Behind, according to an article in today's Springfield News-Leader:

U.S. Rep. Roy Blunt said Monday that he regrets voting for the federal No Child Left Behind law, which requires public schools to meet academic and other goals each year.
Schools, said Blunt, are likely to be better run by those closer to the kids than by the federal government.

I suppose better late than never, but the law continues to affect schools across the United States as one of the worst-conceived federal education initiatives ever to be foisted upon the states.
