A gunman opens fire in a church in Neosho, this afternoon, killing at least three people and wounding several others.
A call came in to police about 2 p.m. from the First Congregational Church near downtown Neosho. An unknown number of people -- but fewer than 10 -- were also shot in the church sanctuary.
A suspect is being held, but authorities are not releasing any information about him. The suspect had three firearms on him. The shooting followed the 1 p.m. service.
25 to 50 people were then taken hostage. Negotiations lasted about 10 minutes, while police were in the church basement. The suspect is said to be related to someone in the church.
