Hillary Clinton asks Obama be voted in by acclamation

'I move the convention suspend the procedural roll call vote and suspend the further conduct of the roll call. I move Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois be selected by this convention by acclamation as the candidate of the Democratic Party for president of the United States."

With those words, Sen. Hillary Clinton of New York made the strongest unity statement of the convention.

Speaker Nancy Pelosi just declared Mrs. Clinton's motion has carried and Barack Obama is officially the Democratic candidate.
