Special interests drop $100,000 into Nixon account

Governor Jay Nixon's re-election bid, still four years away, received a $100,000 booster shot from four top-drawer special interests Wednesday, according to a 48-hour report filed today with the Missouri Ethics Commission.

The biggest contribution, $50,000, came from AT&T. Anheuser Busch, St. Louis, dropped in $25,000, with IUPAT, Washington, D. C. giving $15,000 and Kansas City Southern Railway Company, $10,000.

Nixon has received more than $200,000 in oversized contributions during the first two weeks of 2009.
