Nodler wins again; no laptops for Missouri Senate

The Missouri Senate will remain in the dark ages for another year as an attempt to allow laptops on the Senate floor was withdrawn Monday:

Sen. Gary Nodler, R-Joplin, said he thought computers are not appropriate in the Senate because they could be used for non-Senate business.

"... I'd never use (a computer) in a bathtub where I'd electrocute myself, Senator, because there's a time and a place for everything," Nodler said during debate. "The bathtub is not the place for a computer and neither is the Senate chamber."

To dispel some rumors, these are things that Sen. Nodler did not say Monday:

-"Why not have a bathtub on the Senate floor. Now that we don't have laptops, there won't be any chance of being electrocuted?"

-"God bless our St.Louis Browns!"

-"We have to do something about these young people dancing the jitterbug and reading Mad Magazine."

-"We need strict constructionists on the Supreme Court. When you come right down to it, what was wrong with the Dred Scott decision?

Nodler is moron who thankfully has no chance of advancing beyond his current position. Andy Blunt is going to make sure of it.

I posted here yesterday Randy and you refused to print it. The fact is that Nodler is right and you are wrong about using computers on the Senate floor for private business. Your position is that it is a big problem for a Senator to accept a meal or beverage on their own time outside of the building, but that it is fine to accept money right on the Senate floor during the debate by producing legal briefs for pay or making stock trades or even consulting other legislators for pay using computers to bring this private commerce right into the chamber on Senate time sometimes even in dealing with matters being debated at the time. You major in the minors. Nodler is addressing the real ethical question while you whine about meaningless meals. You are a bird brain, but shouldn’t be called a pig face (I know this name calling is not a reason to exclude the comments from the previous post). You are so wrong and Nodler is so right! You have printed other posts dated later than the post I left here yesterday.
