Firefighters encountered heavy smoke inside the house when entry was made, and Emery was discovered lying on the floor of a hallway, the Fire Department said in a news release. He was taken out of the house, turned over to emergency medical technicians, and pronounced dead a short time later.

James L. Emery, 57, Nevada, brother of Rep. Ed Emery, R-Lamar, died in a house fire Friday morning:
