Leisha Beard named assistant news director for KSNF and KODE

It doesn't seem like it was that long ago that Leisha Maupin was a carhop at the Lamar Sonic.

Now Leisha Beard, who has been assignment editor at KODE, she has come a long way since those days. Today, she was named assistant news director for KODE and KSNF, replacing Tiffany Alaniz.

The news director for the stations is KSNF 6 and 10 p.m. anchor Jim Jackson.

Randy, is the clock on the time of your post's correct?

No, all of my post times are two hours earlier than the actual time. I made that post at 4:21 p.m.

I'm a bit disappointed that they went from inside...those stations need some outside viewpoints.

Yep, no sense in having someone familiar with the area getting a promotion.

Congrats to her! She is a hard worker and will do a great job! I'm glad that she's getting the opportunity!

CONGRATULATIONS MOP! You'll do a great job as in everything you do.

Nothing wrong with area familiarity, but lots of people at both stations have enough to get them by. There is no competitiveness or sense of improvement.

Why don't we just wait and see what she does instead of judging her before she's had a chance.

Not judging her, judging the process.
