Star lowers quality, raises prices

The Kansas City Star, which has been constantly trimming its staff, and therefore its quality over the past several months, is now going to charge more for the diminished product.

Another example of why the newspaper industry is in such deep trouble.

I received the same letter, saying subscription prices were going to increase 15%. First the Star reduced daily delivery in the Joplin area to Sunday only, and then they gutted the Sunday edition. No more Business section on Sunday, no more Travel section on Sunday, and no more FYI section on Sunday.
