Big business chips in for Richard

Speaker of the House Ron Richard, R-Joplin, received $17,550 during the last reporting period, according to a campaign documents filed today with the Missouri Ethics Commission.

Those contributing $1,000 or more were Astellas Pharma U. S. Inc., Deerfield, Ill. $1,000; Missouri Independent Bankers, Liberty, $2,000; Realtors PAC of Missouri, $1,000; Monsanto, $2,500; Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City PAC for Missouri, $2,500; Altria Client Services, $1,000; Missouri Medical PAC, $1,000; and Leggett & Platt, Carthage, $2,500.

Richard reported spending $36,442.04, leaving him with $44,556.55 in his account. The biggest expenditure, $20,000 went to the House Republican Campaign Committee. An additional $960 was sent to the Newton County Republican Central Committee.
