The Missouri Ethics Commission dismissed a complaint against Jasper County Circuit Clerk Linda Williams Tuesday.
The complaint had alleged Mrs. Williams was violating state law by campaigning during work hours. The Commission ruled that while workers in Mrs. Williams' office could not legally campaign when they are on the taxpayers' dime, the rule does not apply to elected officials:
