PoliticMo, the website started by local college student Eli Yokley, who also does The Fuse Joplin, has posted an interview with Seventh District Congressional candidate Billy Long in which Long answers numerous questions about youth involvement in politics, but then abruptly cuts the conversation short when a question about Social Security is asked.

Billy encourages the youth to participate in politics and then shuts them out. Classic Billy, but who is really surprised based on the lack of depth in what will probably be the most embarrassing man to ever represent this district.
Billy Long is truly wrong. Answer the question Billy! That's one of the reasons what we elect representatives for--to report back to our district what is going on with our federal government. If you can't answer the question now, how can we expect answers when those bills grow increasingly more complexed for your unprepared brain?
My guess is that Long works for many cash transactions and doesn't add his share of taxes to the SS pot.....

Not gotcha - serious issue.
Picture this: college kids - get a job and pay into it a ton of money. So, in 45, 50 years when we are of age to collect that money, at the rate we're going right now - that money won't be there for us. It's a HUGE issue for college age people and on down. This congress, or one soon, is going to need to address the issue, and I was simply trying to see where our likely next congressman stood on it.
Tough questions don't equal gotcha questions. Tough questions do equal what voters want answers to - on BOTH sides. And that's what I'm trying to provide.
Hopefully I can get some answers from all sides before November 2.
