The Missouri Republican Party, citing a favorable Rasmussen survey, claimed Thursday that Robin Carnahan's barrage of advertising citing Roy Blunt's ethical problems is not making a dent in Blunt's popularity. As usual, the news release feature a mention of the rubber stamp Robin monicker and continues to link the secretary of state with President Obama:
Lloyd Smith, Executive Director of the Missouri Republican Party, released the following statement regarding the latest Rasmussen Reports survey showing Roy Blunt maintaining a double-digit lead in the race for U.S. Senate, despite a nasty barrage of negative advertising over the past 2 weeks from Robin Carnahan and her liberal Washington allies at the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee and other extreme left-wing groups:
“Since the beginning of the campaign, Robin Carnahan and her radical liberal allies have already spent or committed more than $7.8 million in advertising to distract from her positions—but no amount of money can hide the fact that Carnahan would be just another rubberstamp for the reckless and extreme Obama agenda. Missourians have been bombarded with false and negative attack ads from Carnahan and her liberal allies, but they are discarding the ads as a shameless ploy by a desperate candidate to distract from the issues that matter most. Instead, Missourians have examined the issues, looked at Robin Carnahan's liberal stances, and listened to President Obama insist they send Carnahan to Washington to give him ‘another vote.’ Now they are deciding they don’t want to be represented in the Senate by a rubberstamp for the Democrats’ failed liberal policies. Missourians do not want to give President Obama ‘another vote.’”
