An article in this morning's Springfield News-Leader examines the advertising strategies of the U. S. Senate campaigns of Roy Blunt and Robin Carnahan.
While the story offers a look at what we have been following on television, radio, and the Internet, it would be much more of a public service if the News-Leader would do an in-depth examination of the statements that have been made in these ads.
"Rubber Stamp Robin" and "The Worst in Washington" are memorable taglines, but neither one amounts to more than election year rhetoric if the media does not do its job.
