News-Leader clarification- Blunt's a corrupt candidate, not a corrupt politician

If Roy Blunt's campaign team demanded this apology, I would imagine it is having second thoughts about it now.

From today's Springfield News-Leader:

To clarify a Sunday story, Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington placed Rep. Roy Blunt, R-Mo., on a list of the most corrupt candidates of 2010. He does not appear on a separate list, distributed by the same group, of the most corrupt politicians.

The article notes that "readers" requested the correction.

An interesting letter in the N-L by Paula Gott attempts to further the cause of the Carnahan campaign by spinning Roy's past service in Congress. She works toward the corrupt politician theme in her writings.

Paula is a good girl, getting a little long in the tooth like many of the rest of us. It was only a matter of time before the Carnahan campaign would use her to be the unofficial messenger for Robin's "corrupt' talking points.

Those of us who know Paula know her colorful background and how her current life choices greatly influence her views. Not that there is anything wrong with that.

Now if only Paula would reveal how well she knows Robin; how they met and what they were doing when they met.

And what does any of that have anything to do with Blunt's past and policies? Sounds like you are trying to steer off the facts, he is corrupt.

Hey 9:57 So what's any of that got to do with the fact Blunt is one of the most corrupt politicians in our history?

Why is it when the truth comes out about a Republican you want to change the subject?

Who cares about Paula's business with Carnahan...Paula is writing the truth. If she was making this stuff up with no proof that would be different but whole legions of organizations know of Roy Blunts corrupt actions in Washington.

If the entire Missouri Republican Party were not scared of his wrath (and there will be wrath if he's not elected, he's Royal Roy you know), they'd have found their gonads and never have let him run in the 1st place. Jim Talent would have made a much better opponent of Carnahan than ol' sleaze ball himself Royal Roy.

He sleeps with dogs and he has fleas. Period.
