“By rejecting the Keystone XL Pipeline that would bring much-needed oil from Canada to the United States, President Obama has put environmental special interests ahead of American jobs and American energy security. It is disappointing that President Obama has chosen to placate a fringe element of his political base at the cost of 20,000 shovel-ready construction jobs, 118,000 jobs in related industries, and a guaranteed flow of energy from a friendly neighbor. The people of my district want high-paying jobs and lower prices at the pump. It's a shame the President blocked both by siding with special interests over the American people.
